These are the terms for ordering from Sourdough Harvest through this website. We are a small home bakery, so this is written plainly rather than in legal language.
When you submit an order on this site you are sending us a request, not a completed purchase. Nothing is charged at that point. We look at it, confirm we can bake it for the day you asked for, and then send you a link to pay along with the confirmed pickup time and place.
An order becomes final once you have paid. Until then either of us can call it off — if we cannot bake it, or you change your mind, just tell us.
Some pickup options have a minimum order, shown on the ordering page before you submit.
Prices are shown on the ordering page. Depending on your order and pickup choice, the total may also include sales tax, a charge for slicing, and a card processing fee. All of these are itemized for you before you pay.
Payment is taken by Square. We never see or store your card details.
Orders are for collection — either from us directly, or at a market we are attending. The time and place are confirmed when we accept your order.
Please collect on the agreed day. Fresh bread does not keep, so if an order is not collected we cannot usually hold it or remake it. If something has gone wrong, get in touch and we will do what we sensibly can.
If you need to change or cancel, contact us as soon as you can. Before we have started baking, that is usually no trouble. Once your order has been baked we may not be able to refund it, since it is made fresh for you and cannot be resold.
Our food is made in a home kitchen. That kitchen handles wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds and soy, and we cannot guarantee any item is free from traces of any of them, including items described as nut-free.
If you have a serious allergy, please tell us before ordering so we can be honest with you about whether we can safely bake for you.
Our products contain no preservatives and are best eaten or frozen within a few days.
Our rewards program is run through Square Loyalty and is linked to your phone number. Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and we may change or end the program. If we do, we will honor points already earned for a reasonable period.
When you order you can tick “Text me about this order”. If you do, we will text the number you gave us about that order only:
That is the whole of it — we never send marketing or promotional texts. Ticking the box is optional and is never a condition of ordering. Leave it unticked and we will simply email you instead.
Separately, if you use the chat box on this website, your question is sent to the bakery owner as a text so they see it quickly, and their reply appears back here on the website.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Please use the site as intended — to look at what we bake and to order it. Do not attempt to interfere with it, place fake orders, or misuse the messaging feature.
The words and photographs on this site belong to Sourdough Harvest. Please do not reuse them without asking.
We are a small bakery and we will always try to put things right. Where the law allows, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for the order in question. Nothing here removes any rights you have that cannot legally be removed.
If these change we will update the date at the top of this page. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in place when you place it.
