This explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do. We are a small home bakery, not an advertising business, and this policy tries to be plain rather than lawyerly.
We collect your name, phone number, email address, what you ordered, your pickup choice, and any notes you add. We keep this so we can bake the right things, reach you about collection, and keep a record of the order.
Payment is handled by Square. Your card details go straight to Square and we never see or store them. Square handles that information under its own privacy policy.
If you use the chat box, we keep what you typed, along with your name and phone number if you chose to give them, so we can answer you. Your question is sent to the bakery owner as a text message or email, and their reply is shown back to you on the website.
Rewards are run by Square Loyalty. If you look up your points or join, your phone number is sent to Square to find or create your rewards account. We see your points balance; we do not see anything else about your Square account.
We count visits so we know whether the site is working and what people find useful. This is our own counter — there is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, and no third-party tracking script anywhere on this site.
We record:
We do not store your IP address. It is used momentarily to stop one machine flooding the counter, and then discarded.
If you have ordered from us or messaged us from the same browser, your name is attached to that record so we can recognize a returning customer. Your phone number and email are never attached to it — those stay with your order.
Open sourdoughharvest.com/?notrack=1 on any device and that device will never be counted again. Anything it has already contributed is removed. You can do this on as many devices as you like, and you do not need to tell us or give us anything.
If you tick “Text me about this order” when ordering, we use the number you gave us to text you about that order — confirming it, sending your pickup details and payment link, telling you when it is ready, and reminding you the day before. We keep a record that you ticked the box, and a record if you later reply STOP. If you do not tick it, we send you nothing.
If you use the chat box, your question is sent to the bakery owner as a text so they can answer it.
Mobile phone numbers are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send marketing or promotional texts at all. A phone number you give us is used to reach you about your own order or rewards, and for nothing else. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help.
Only the services we need to run the bakery:
We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.
Orders are kept as business records. Visit records are limited: we keep the last 20 visits per browser, and older ones drop off automatically. Messages are kept so we can look back at a conversation.
This site is meant for adults ordering bread. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Email sourdoughharvest@gmail.com and ask. We will delete what we hold about you, apart from anything we have to keep as a record of a completed sale.
If this changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
